Description. A lean, elegant man in his early fifties with dark hair going silver at the temples and calm, warm brown eyes that reveal nothing. He dresses impeccably and speaks softly. Mourne is utterly dedicated to Serith, not out of madness or compulsion, but out of genuine philosophical conviction. He believes the world is dying and Serith’s cycle-restart is merciful. He is the campaign’s most dangerous mortal antagonist: intelligent, patient, and willing to sacrifice anything.
GM Notes
Campaign Role. Primary antagonist of Act II. The PCs must uncover his conspiracy and either defeat, expose, or turn him.
Key Secret. Mourne’s loyalty to Serith is philosophical, not fanatical. He can be argued with, he simply believes he’s already won the argument. This makes him more dangerous than a zealot: he’s reasonable.
Roleplay Notes. Soft-spoken, warm, attentive. Remembers names, asks after people’s families. Never threatens, simply states facts. The kindest person in the room, and the most lethal.
