Appearance
Thirties, thin, with sharp dark eyes and the calloused hands of someone who has worked every menial job the Dominion offers. Hair cropped short (Ashless cannot wear it long, by law). A scar across her left forearm from a Cinder interrogation. Dresses in the undyed cloth that marks her caste.
Personality
Fierce, articulate, furious in a controlled way. Cassia speaks for the Ashless, the people without caste, without rights, without legal existence. She is not affiliated with the Unbound Congregation (they want reform, she wants revolution) but respects Elowen Greaves. She organizes survival networks in the Lower Ribs: food, shelter, hiding places for those fleeing Cinder attention.
She is very good at not being found.
What She Wants
- Recognition. Legal personhood for the Ashless.
- Answers. Ashless people are disappearing from the Lower Ribs without the usual Cinder processing. Cassia is tracking the pattern and growing more alarmed with each name added to her list.

The disappearing Ashless are being taken by Cinder agents for use in Delric Mourne’s entropic experiments. No one of consequence misses them. Cassia is the only person tracking the disappearances, and she’s getting close to the truth.
Plot hook: If the PCs earn Cassia’s trust, she can provide names, dates, and patrol patterns, enough to trace the abductions back to Cinder operations. This thread leads directly to Mourne’s secret work beneath the Spine.
